This happens in Latin America all the time. Research what happened in the last election in Venezuela, or if you are lazy watch the election episode of Narcos: Mexico. The strategy is simple. The election must have the appearance of being democratic and legitimate and so that image is well cultivated. However there are built-in mechanisms to prevent an undesirable election result. They happen in the late hours and when it appears the opponent has the advantage. Huge and unlikely margins of new votes are dropped quietly into the totals so as to place the ruling generalissimo or caudillo into the lead as the nation awakes. The state media spins these tales as hometowns coming home to the leading candidate and that these votes are always counted late. The margins increase and by the end of it the winner is clear.
This is a complete joke and the world laughs at the USA. So great of a nation it has to borrow an old trick perfected in modern times by Hugo Chavez.

Biden is an old school debater like Hillary or Romney. To them a debate is scripted like a campaign speech. They make their own case, contrast that with the opponentâs record, try to score a few clever jabs and hope the networks declare them the âwinnerâ. Trumpâs not Romney. Itâs nearly impossible to debate someone whom you have no idea what they are going to do or say next. This is who Trump is and itâs not like Biden or his handlers donât know this. Trump got Biden to lose his cool and play by his rules, and on top of that all got Biden to renounce the leftâs positions on the Green New Deal and defunding the police.
Whoever gets their base to turn out and be enthused is going to win this thing. Thatâs why I think this debate did not go Bidenâs way.

This is a culture war and Trump is astute enough to realise heâs not changing any minds and getting Biden leaners to switch to him. Turning out his base in great numbers is Trumpâs only path to re-election. Turning out his own base is also Bidenâs path. He said specifically that he did not support the Green New Deal, condemned violence and insisted he was against defunding the police. That hurts him more with the Left than the handful of Trump leaners he may have convinced. Biden obviously had a different strategy in mind and it probably would have worked had Trump tacked to the centre. He should have identified Trumpâs strategy early on and tacked hard left.

Drearyweather: In his own condescending way he indicated in a backhand manner the comment was for Dwayne, but not before going on a pious monologue about how exJWs who have complaints about him are going to be blocked - a clear answer to Shelly. This is another case of how his behaviour nullifies any point he was trying to get across. He could have simply stated something to effect of âShelly, that wasnât directed at youâ. Instead he was ranting about blocking people and crucifying himself on his own heavily utilised cross. Why he feels the need to fire in all directions is beyond me.

Jeffro: Thanks for explaining yourself. I believe you should take some of your own advice and consider your comments that I want people to fully endorse my âhatredâ of Evans. I fully understand that you disagree with my view that the âscrew youâ comment was directed at Shelly and that this should not be taken as a blanket endorsement from you of every thing he does. I made the comment âdefendingâ specifically referring to that incident. Myself, Shelly, her husband and more than a few others have good reason to believe that was directed at her (and at Dwayne). Naturally, should Evans theoretically make an excellent video about JW doctrine or the GB the next day, then great. Attaboy.
A decent amount of drama surrounds this man and it is unhealthy. Of little help is his penchant for blaming people and yes, a huge case of persecution complex - a good example of âus vs themâ mentality. Add in his rude and arrogant nature and you are going to have people take issue with him. Then he takes issue with the people who take issue with him and then you get what happened last week. Itâs the way he wants it so itâs the way he gets it.
Consider also the tweet itself and the context. Both Shelly and Dwayne made similar comments about exJW activists but mentioned no names. I can hardly fault the man for sticking up for himself should his name be brought up, but it wasnât. It was completely unnecessary for him to jump in there, claim it was all about him and say âscrew youâ. Using the same logic, how do we even know they were referring to Evans? Possible, even probable, but not definite. Same goes for whom his response was directed at.
For me itâs like the mouse and the cheese argument. The cheese is missing and you know there is a mouse in the house but you didnât physically see the mouse take it.
Heâs done this so many times itâs hard not to make this connection.

Speaking of confirmation of intent, what is truly remarkable is how you jump to his defense and insist that their past history doesnât make any difference in determining who he was directing the âscrew youâ comment to.
Itâs good that we are having this conversation. I feel itâs important for people to at least know what kind of man you are defending. The very fact this can happen in the open is progress compared to what happened in the past when an elder stepped out of line.
Even more poignant for an elder of the exJW variant.
I am not into âhatredâ or other sensationalist adjectives. Not into labels for that matter. Thatâs how JWs thought they won arguments. I speak my mind and call out abuse and similar types of behaviour.
What we have is a difference of opinion. I donât hate you for that.
